To turn off notifications (from Outlook Express)

You are notified when someone on your Contacts list logs on or when you receive e-mail at Hotmail (if you have a Hotmail account). You can turn off only logon notifications.

  1. On the Tools menu in Outlook Express, point to the name of your messenger service, and then click Options.
  2. On the General tab under Notifications, clear the Display message near taskbar when contact comes online check box.
